Review

We visited the use of wight and
Spent some time visiting the Esplanade in Ryde Pier. The scenery is amazing overlooking the ferry going back & forth between Portsmouth & Fishbourne ferry. It was my first time seeing the Hobocraft in action and I was delighted to see that it’s not really flying but barely hovering over the water as it too Travel from the Ryde Pier to Portsmouth. We walked on the ocean floor as the tide had receded and we enjoyed the picking up shells. I would visit Ryde again for sure! However, it was disappointing as we met 5 kids sheltering the rain at the esplanade pier and they expressed their frustration with nothing “ to do” for younger /teenagers who are out of school and not in college. One explained that their is no easy/simple jobs like “ Toys r us” where they could get jobs and that’s sad. I assume he meant if you did not have a college degree or college education, then there was no opportunity in Ryde or Isle of Wight.

I've visited Ryde a lot over the years and always come to the sea front. The beach is wide and sandy with easy access. Great for children. There are shops along the front selling buckets and spades etc. The hovercraft can be seen from the front. Further along there are pedal boats for the children. I was lucky to have good weather but even if the weather isn't too good there's an indoor swimming pool. Its a lovely walk along the beach. I didn't go in the sea.

Start of the summer holidays and it’s stunning yet again. We had to visit the dog friendly part of the beach. Extremely beautiful and clean! Remember it hurting our feet just getting into the water in previous years due to the pebbles but easy sorted this year wearing suitable water-friendly sandals. The water was reasonably warm so we all ended up taking a dip! Perfect place to chill out and relax. Nice and quiet part of the beach. Taps available just a little further down near the castle to wash down and also public conveniences. Couldn’t recommend it enough!!! 5* all the way!
